The Abdullah Gül University Quality Coordination Office recently participated in the ICQAA 2026 (International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education), where the future of quality assurance, digital transformation, and AI applications were discussed.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kübra Şimşek, our Quality Coordinator, represented the university alongside Dr. Mehmet Nurettin Alabay and Kübra Erol from the Quality Office team.
During the event, Dr. Mehmet Nurettin Alabay presented our paper, 'Digital Transformation in Higher Education Quality Assurance: An AI-Supported Evidence Management System (BİDR/KİDR) Model.' The presentation introduced the AI-backed evidence management system we implemented at our university. Our work on using AI to manage evidence and strengthen institutional quality assurance mechanisms drew significant interest from the attendees.
The conference also gave us a great opportunity to explore national and international best practices. We exchanged ideas with other institutions on key topics like AI governance in higher education, digital quality assurance, evidence-based monitoring, learning outcome evaluation, and institutional performance management.
At Abdullah Gül University, we see quality assurance as much more than just reporting and evaluation. We are constantly improving our system to ensure it learns from data, harnesses technology, and uses the evidence we gather to drive continuous improvement.
